A dictionary/glossary/lexicon as sort of a cosmic, meeting of the minds, collaboration of the likes of Dan Webster, Sam Johnson, Ambrose Bierce, Hunter S. Thompson, Wm. F. Buckley, Grouch Marx, W. C. Fields and many more... even though its editors are obscure unknowns with dreadfully dangerous senses of humor. Caterpillar: Not a new word, but a new meaning with a new symbolism. As of yesterday, we aquired the new knowledge that our administrations have avowed and allowed and defended of/to the use of insects (caterpillars in at least one case) to the use of torture of its political prisoners. Definitions: (1) The introduction of insect(s) onto the skin of a detainee/prisoner for the purposes of making the same believe that the insect(s) have a venomous sting. (2) The symbol of the use of covert - and now overt - torture by the US on its political detainees and prisoners. (3) A now legally acceptable practice of cruel and unusual political punishment in the USA.
Example: "Did you inform the prisoner that they had a caterpillar in their head bag?". "Yes. Yes we did".

Fingasm: The rather obvious portmanteau of orgasm + financial. (1) The ultimate goal and/or needed quasi-sexual-financial release leading to relief from the currently unbearable psychological and financial crisis. (2) The financial-crisis equivalent to relief of the same via sexual release. (3) The inspiration we all felt to the reaction obtained by Elizabeth Warren in her final response to John Stewart's almost-penetrating (sorry, unintended pun...) questioning during last night's (Wednesday, April 15, 2009) Daily Show.
Brief editorial: We inadvertently referred to Jon Stewart's interview questions as "almost-penetrating" due to Ms. Warren's almost completely deer-in-the-headlights response to all but one of his questions (the last one, Wednesday, April 15, 2009).

Fingid
Fingid: What should have been an obvious portmanteau of frigid + financial (crisis) to sex therapists cum (sorry, inadvertent pun...) financiers and the like. Definitions: (1) Quasi-sexual-financial condition resulting in missed fingasm or a financius interruptus (finnuptus, for short) due to the currently psychologically and financially unbearable economic climate. (2) Frigidity caused by the currently psychologically and financially unbearable economic climate. (3) Inability to achieve fingasm (or orgasm) due to the currently unbearable psychologically and financially economic climate or other oppressive sociological climate [See Diane Keaton's character's ("Luna") line in Woody Allen's cult-classic Sleeper: "In the future, we're all frigid"].

Deresourcing or desimonization
Deresourcing or desimonization: In our previous entry, we discussed the portmanteau piraculation (or piraculate). The suggestion was that overpopulation pressures for declining resources (such as fish, and other marine and maritime resources) apparently resulted in the use of piracy by country-states such as Somalia. This appears to be directly contrary to the work of the late Julian Lincoln Simon, The Ultimate Resource.

Piraculate or Piraculation
Piraculate / Piraculation: A portmanteau of piracy and (over)population. We have almost all of us recently witnessed the rather thrilling climax of the siege of the Maersk Alabama and the dramatic rescue of Captain Richard Phillips. The derivation of this/these new word(s) comes about from the development of piracy in a country-state like Somalia faced with the need of an overpopulated world feeding off of their fishing and sea territories and thus forcing them to new - and illegal - ventures. Somalia and countries like Somalia are faced with the rather grim prospect of supporting themselves without their traditional and sovereign rights to making a livelihood off of their own coastline(s) and resources. We propose piraculation is one end result of this.
Definition: The descent into or reduction to an idea, notion, philosophy, state and/or activities associated with piracy as a consequence of deresourcing and/or desimonization.
For more see the BBC Article: Attenborough warns on population . And the Wikipedia Article: Overpopulation. More on piracy, see David Cordingly's rather excellent book: "Under the Black Flag: The Romance and the Reality of Life Among the Pirates". (Note: We apologize for the Amazon ad, we had wanted to use Google Books, but our public IP address provider's use of SmartFilter prevented us from doing so).

Griditration or Gridthreat
Griditration/Gridthreat: (1) Infiltration of a nation's power grid (e.g., in this case, the USA!) allegedly by a foreign power. Purportedly to be used as an "equalizer" in the event of war with the alleged foreign power or superpower nation. (2) Is this related to the mysterious purpose(s) and evolution (?) of the Conficker WormVirus? Reference(s): Cyberspies infiltrate US power grid and Hackers reportedly have embedded code in power grid. (3) And if and when the war does start, we think we'll know for sure... (4) We guess we'll also know for sure if this website is suddenly and mysteriously blocked...
